Expressing Unspoken words through yoyos - a project by Justin Bui and Noah Burrows.
Unspoken first started when I started messing around with Computer Assisted Design software in late 2016. I had drawn up several yoyo designs - namely the first iterations of the files for our first two yoyos, the Riddle and the Paradox. I sent Noah screenshots of the design, as he was a lifelong friend and really my only friend that was also into yoyos at the time (I had yet to fully immerse myself in the community). Noah was actually the one to suggest that we could start something with it. And so we did.
Noah and I began refining those two initial CAD files and working with a machinist to produce the first run of prototypes for both the Riddle and Paradox, and from there, the rest is, as they say, history. Through the process of prototyping those first two yoyos, we have learned a great deal about the material science behind yoyos as well as the art of weight distribution. We are confident in our designs, as we have designed them not just as an artistic expression of ourselves, but as a functional piece of work that can be used by players throughout the community.
We have since started to expand further into more of a lifestyle brand optimized for yoyos and yoyo players, as it has been a goal of ours from the beginning to incorporate art, fashion, and functionality into this project, and we are finally financially capable of doing so.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about our story, and for your interest in Unspoken. We hope to be able to serve your yoyo related needs sometime soon!
